I love shooting engagement pictures in downtown Chicago. Whether you’re shooting along the lakeshore or in the loop the possibilities for creative portraiture are nearly limitless! The city Chicago offers such a wide variety of backdrops for engagement photos that you really don’t have to go far to come up with something beautiful and unique.
This past weekend I met up with Florence and Gerry who flew into town from NY to wrap up a few last minute details before their spring wedding, they wanted to do their engagement shoot relatively quickly and without making to many stops so we started off at North Avenue beach. The reason North Avenue Beach is such a great location for engagement photos is because it offers the historic North Avenue Beach Boat House, the wide open expanse of Lake Michigan, and up close views of the Chicago Skyline as backdrops.
The fact that you can get 3 completely different photos without having to change locations makes this an ideal spot for the couple with a busy schedule who still want a variety of engagement pictures to choose from. For those of you who are curious, there is no significance to the Balloons, Florence and Gerry just wanted to do something fun that would make their pictures different!
